Our school is a public school but one needs to view it as a semi-private school as the state only pays for some of the teachers' salaries.   The school fees are set by the Governing Body to cover the running costs of the school as well as to pay for additional teachers' salaries.  Our classes average between 25 and 30 pupils and therefore we have a substantial salary bill each year to ensure that our class sizes do not reach the excessive number prescribed by the state.

Some of the expenses that our school is responsible for are:

  • *  maintenance of school grounds and equipment
  • *  maintenance of all buildings
  • *  swimming pool
  • *  minor repairs
  • *  maintenance of swimming pool/sports facilities
  • *  water
  • *  telephone
  • *  electricity
  • *  any extra/specialised staff employed by the school (e.g. bursar, librarian)
  • *  computer hardware, software and repairs
  • *  library books
  • *  readers and exercise books
  • *  maintenance of kombis
  • *  cleaning materials
  • *  educational visits/outings
  • *  subject materials - Science, Art, Woodwork, Reception Class, Foundation Phase, Needlework etc.
  • *  audio-visual equipment
  • *  salaries

1.  The above does not include funds needed for any capital expenditure or any future maintenance or development.

2.  You will receive two accounts each term for your quarterly fee

3.  We advise all families to budget for education as one does for their regular expenses.

Monthly payments (personal or per stop order) are advisable.

4.  The school fees are reviewed each year and parents can expect an annual increase to cover the running costs of the school.
