In our Reception classes we aim to provide the child with a foundation for learning by providing firsthand experience.
The daily programme is designed to involve the "whole" child - the physical, emotional, social, creative and intellectual aspects of your child's development.
There is a balance between informal learning experiences - viz. discussions, music, movement and storytime and free play - the merits of which should not be underestimated. It encourages decision-making, the discovery of individual potential, the expression of feelings and ideas and the creative use of language. Routine activities are the third feature of the daily programme. These include toilet routine and snacktime - both encouraging independence and self-discipline, as well as enabling the child to participate, and lending a feeling of security.
The subject matter of themes is geared to the child's level and interests. Outings allow the child to explore his/her environment as well as broadening his/her experience and knowledge.
Parents are provided with a comprehensive report on their child's development each term.
