In 1994 we started our Reading Programme with our Grade One pupils. Every Tuesday - thanks to the help of grannies, mums and friends of the school - the Grade One's 'read' their specially selected books.
The books are read to the children and they then have the rest of the week to read the books at home. The added vocabulary and the ensuing discussions help to make our pupils more literate.
This is just another way in which Sea Point Primary inculcates good reading habits and a love of reading.
