CODE OF CONDUCT
SCHOOL HOURS
Learners must attend school promptly during stipulated hours. A learner may not leave the premises without the remission of the Principal. Parents must sign the children out at the secretary’s office. Bell rules must be obeyed.
APPEARANCE AND NEATNESS
The personal appearance and uniform must comply with standards set in the prospectus. All school clothes and possessions must be marked clearly. No sport shoes will be allowed to be worn with the formal school uniform. Hairstyle must be neat and tidy and may not hang on the shirt or dress collar. No ornamental hair slides or clips will be allowed. No jewellery allowed.
BREAK TIME
No learner will be allowed inside the building, except on rainy days. Learners move into their rows as soon as the bell rings. Learners may not slide down the embankments or play in the parking area. Learners are restricted to the playground of their standard group.
PASSAGES
Learners move orderly in their rows when changing classes. Learners walk on the left-hand side of the passage. Learners are expected to be polite towards teachers and guests.
GENERAL BEHAVIOUR OF LEARNERS
Selective use of language must be maintained.
Be respectful towards teachers and other learners.
School property as well as own possessions must be taken care of.
Valuable items brought to school at learners’ own risk.
No aggressive behavior or games will be allowed.
Littering is prohibited.
Correct handling of educational and learning material is required.
DISCIPLINE
Learners are expected to submit himself to the authority of the class teacher.
A pupil must be able to give his/her full co-operation during the learning programme.
Pupils who disrupt classes and portray disciplinary problems will be acted upon as follows: The class teacher will handle such cases prudently. However, if matters are not resolved in class the teacher will notify parents, thereafter the Principal will be informed. In the cases where there is a need, outside professional help will be engaged.
